My name is Meg Dirito and I am a professional triathlete and a mother of two. In order to race triathlon professionally I have to travel the world to attend races. I balance my time training, racing and raising my children who both compete at a high level for USA triathlon and USA swimming. Even at my age, I continue to pursue sports because I am still learning and I love triathlon and sport in general. I feel that my training and goals set a good example and pathway for my children to follow. I want to teach them what hard work is, pursuing goals and dreams and never giving up on yourself no matter how old you may be.

I began sports at the early age of 2 where I learned to dance. My dance skills brought me to the local gym where I then joined the gymnastics team in 3rd grade. From there I competed as a Level 9 gymnast attending state and National Championships.
In 9th grade I retired from the gym and joined the local swim team where she had the strongest but ugliest sprint stroke of anyone on the team. Soon I was sought out by Division 1 colleges where I received a sports and academic scholarships at Bucknell University. There I set team, meet and league records and qualified for NCAA Championships and Olympic Trials in the 50 and 100 freestyle. I was awarded the Christy Matthewson Award for the top female athlete in her graduating class. I was a 3 time All PATRIOT League selection and holds multiple Patriot League titles. Later I was inducted into the sports Bucknell Sports Hall of Fame and deemed the fastest sprinter in Bucknell History.
In 2018 I picked up my 1st book on how to complete a sprint triathlon. From there I completed my first sprint triathlon in 2019 then moving on to longer endurance distances of the Half and Full IRONMAN. As an age grouper I qualified for 5 world championships including the KONA World Championships, USA All American and USAT All American 3 years in a row. USA Triathlon ranked me 2nd in the USA and 6th in the world in Ironman distances. I e was 3rd out of the water at the Finland 70.3 World Championships and 5th out of the water at the KONA World Championships. In 2023 I qualified for my professional triathlon license and my first PRO race was Ironman Florida where I set a new PR.
In addition to competing Road Triathlon I also race in the Xterra world placing first in the PRO field at Xterra New Jersey and Xterra EX2 in 2024, qualifying for a world PRO Championship spot in Italy.
I love racing in the professional field against women who push me to be the best I can be all while and traveling the world while racing.
