South African athlete dedicated to competing in 100m and 200m. I am currently unsponsored and rely primarily on competition prize money to fund my career. Unfortunately, this means I cannot always afford the travel, training, recovery, nutrition and competition expenses needed to reach my full potential. Many of the highest-paying competitions are held overseas and the costs of flights, visas, travel insurance, accommodation and proper nutrition often make it impossible for me to attend. Competing internationally not only gives me the opportunity to prove myself against the best athletes but also allows me to earn the prize money needed to continue pursuing my career. To make matters even more challenging, prize money is often only paid up to 90 days after a competition, meaning I need financial support to cover my expenses while I wait for payments.
