FUND THE WORK BEHIND THE SPEED

Christian Shelton-White began short track speedskating at age 11 without knowing how to skate. Five years later, he is competing nationally, and now he is pursuing a long-term goal of developing toward the 2034 Olympic Winter Games.

That progress has required thousands of hours of work—but in short track, hard work alone isn’t enough.

Developing athletes need access: access to quality ice, individualized technical coaching, strength training, stronger training groups, competitive racing, and opportunities to learn in high-performance environments.

THAT IS WHAT THIS CAMPAIGN FUNDS.

Christian currently trains with Potomac Speedskating Club and receives individualized technical coaching from 1994 Olympian and former U.S. National Team coach Tony Goskowicz. His development has included high-level training experiences with Olympic champion Shani Davis, Olympian Maame Biney and elite coach Anthony Barthell. He also received Skate-Tec M-Wave Flex short-track blades donated by a speedskating Olympian to support his continued development.

The next phase is about converting that foundation into measurable progress.

THE NEXT STEP

During the 2026–27 season, Christian will focus on improving position, edges, corner mechanics, efficiency, starts, passing, tactics, and race execution while continuing to lower his 500m time and compete against stronger fields.

Looking ahead to Summer 2027, the development plan expands to high-performance training and competition opportunities in Québec, Calgary and Salt Lake City—environments that can provide more ice, stronger training groups, expert technical feedback and exposure to athletes operating at higher levels of the sport.

Christian isn’t asking anyone to fund a guaranteed Olympic outcome.

He is asking for the opportunity to do the work required to find out how good he can become.

Every contribution helps close the distance between the training Christian can access today and the training required to advance.

Expand access. Create opportunity. Accelerate development. Advance to the next level.

Thank you for becoming part of Christian’s journey.
