    Athletic career and achievements

Amenah Almuhairi is a trailblazer for winter sport in the UAE and is currently the country's only female athlete competing internationally in snowboarding. She has been the UAE National Snowboarding Champion since 2018 and made history in 2023 as the first Emirati snowboarder to compete in an FIS-sanctioned event. In 2024, she proudly represented the UAE at the Youth Winter Olympic Games, further establishing herself as one of the nation's most promising winter athletes. In 2026, Amenah claimed the inaugural Asian Cup Rail title and has also represented the UAE at three Junior World Championships.

Looking ahead, she plans to continue her education and training overseas, with Canada among the options she is considering, while working towards her goal of competing at multiple Winter Olympic Games and helping develop winter sport in the UAE.

    Coaching and community

Amenah is passionate about using her platform to inspire the next generation of athletes, particularly young women considering unconventional sports. She hopes to demonstrate that athletes from the UAE can succeed on the international winter sports stage and is committed to contributing to the continued growth and development of winter sport across the country.

Her journey has also attracted significant media attention, with features in Fast Company Middle East and Emirates Woman, recognising both her sporting achievements and her role in breaking new ground for Emirati athletes.

    Sporting background

Amenah's introduction to snow sports began at just five years old when her mother enrolled her in skiing lessons at Ski Dubai to prepare for a family holiday in Bosnia. During that trip, a family friend invited Amenah and her brother to try snowboarding for the first time.

"I'd never heard of it before, but my brother and I both said yes. I loved every second and didn't touch the skis for the rest of the trip," she recalls. From that moment, snowboarding became her passion. Supported by her mum's alpine skiing background, Amenah has continued to pursue the sport despite the unique challenges of growing up in a desert nation.

    Challenges and opportunity

As a winter sports athlete representing a desert country, Amenah has forged a unique path to international competition. She is currently self-funded and continues to pursue elite performance despite the additional challenges of accessing training and competition opportunities.

For partners, Amenah offers the opportunity to align with a pioneering athlete who represents resilience, determination and innovation. As one of the UAE's leading winter sports athletes, she connects with a growing audience that values authenticity, high performance and positive social impact.

Her motivation extends beyond competition. "Making my country proud, achieving my goals, inspiring young girls and helping develop winter sport in the UAE are what drive me every day."

As Amenah explains "My biggest passion currently is trying to enforce the fact that just because we come from a desert country, it doesn't mean you can't pursue an unconventional sport or any dream that you have."
