Omar Aamar is an Israeli XCO (Cross-Country Olympic) cyclist competing on the Men’s Junior circuit. Born in 2007, he has rapidly progressed from training independently in an Arab village where structured sport participation is extremely limited to becoming a ranked international rider on the UCI junior circuit.
Now racing at international level, Omar has already achieved a top-10 finish in a Junior World Cup event and continues to build momentum towards his long-term ambition of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Athletic Career and Achievements
Omar has shown steady progression through national and international MTB XCO competition, transitioning from strong domestic results in Israel to competitive performances on the European junior circuit.
A defining feature of his 2026 season is his transition into more demanding international Elite/U23 environments, where he continues to adapt physically and technically—particularly in endurance pacing, climbing capacity, and technical descending on full-suspension XC setups.
His current focus is on accumulating UCI points, gaining exposure to higher-level competition, and securing the financial support required to sustain a full international race calendar.

Coaching and community
Omar trains independently within a structured personal program, combining on-bike endurance and technical sessions with gym-based strength training and structured recovery. He trains approximately 15–22 hours per week across six days. His presence is growing internationally as he continues to race higher-level European and UCI events.
Sport background:
Omar began cycling without formal infrastructure or early elite development pathways, training largely independently. His progression into international racing has been self-driven, built on consistency, resilience and rapid technical development in cross-country mountain biking.
Equipment:

Challenges and Opportunity
Omar’s primary barrier to progression is financial sustainability. At present, he lacks the funding required to consistently attend international races, covering essential costs such as flights, accommodation, race entry fees, nutrition and recovery support.
Despite this, he is already demonstrating international-level capability, with top-10 results in Junior World Cup-level competition and emerging performances in elite fields.
Support would directly enable:
- Full participation in UCI Junior and Elite international race calendars
- Increased opportunity to earn UCI ranking points for Olympic qualification (LA 2028 pathway)
- Continued technical and physical development in high-level European competition
- Stability to focus fully on performance rather than logistics and funding constraints
Omar is a high-potential athlete at a critical transition point—from promising junior to fully established international competitor—where financial support has a direct and measurable impact on performance trajectory.
